Nora Peterson is a multidisciplinary Minnesotan filmmaker, artist, and educator who is passionate about the moving image arts, media literacy, and creating an inclusive, accessible, and powerful filmmaking community. She is an alumna of the MCAD animation summer program and the University of Minnesota where she was awarded the prestigious Presidential Scholarship for academic excellence. Additionally, she was honored with the Whiteside Scholarship from the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation for her scholarly achievement, leadership, character, and community involvement.

During her junior year she worked with Dr. Herbert Schilling at NASA’s Graphics and Visualization Lab as their creative specialist, turning her love of outreach, media, and science into helping students of all academic backgrounds find opportunities in public research. She graduated summa cum laude with Bachelors of Fine Arts in Art and an emphasis in film.

Nora is heavily involved with the Twin Cities film scene, advocating for programs that connect filmmakers of all backgrounds with the tools and support they need to grow as artists and as people. When she’s not volunteering her time as a film and script consultant for her friends Nora is volunteering to teach filmmaking to Girl Scouts. She has had projects screened at Film Score Fest and Z Fest.
